Most tracks are sited in suburban towns, and feature flat, wide, half-mile long courses. Regional races are usually two-day events, while some locations offer longer sprints. Often, one kart is entered by more than one driver, due to racing on a same day. In some places, open wheel and mini-kart categories are split.
Some tournaments have a \"bracket\" system that allows multiple drivers to race each other. In the event of a specific class not having enough entries, the \"bracket\" can be set for multi-seasons, and the top five drivers move on. Advancement is usually determined by \"points\", with each driver earning \"points\" based on the distance they ultimately finish against the remaining drivers. Matches are often dramatic and intense, especially during the late race stages, as most racers want to win the race. Most tracks close after the race is completed.
